Lokeswara Rao Potnuru Receives JMR/JMRO Award at ENC-ISMAR 2025

We are excited to congratulate Lokeswara Rao Potnuru for receiving the JMR/JMRO Award at the ENC-ISMAR 2025 conference held at the Asilomar Conference Center in Pacific Grove, California. His award-winning abstract, “¹⁷O NMR Chemical Shift Reports on Water Structural Property in DMSO–Water Mixtures,” was selected for its outstanding contribution to the study of solvation dynamics.

Lokeswara’s research employs ¹⁷O NMR spectroscopy to generate unambiguous signatures of water, distinct from those of the biomolecular surface, in mixtures with DMSO and glycerol. These methods are illustrated using model solutions to elucidate fundamental solvation mechanisms. Additionally, ¹⁷O NMR chemical shifts are computed using electronic structure calculations, incorporating predictive functions based on water-water and water-DMSO/glycerol interactions.

Congratulations to Lokeswara on this well-deserved recognition of his innovative work!
