Shiny Maity

Graduate Student Researcher

Shiny’s research focuses on the protein structural dynamics using magnetic resonance-based techniques. Her goal is to gain a mechanical understanding of blue-light activated photoswitches, namely Light-Oxygen-Voltage (LOV) and Cryptochrome-2 by probing conformational dynamics and changes in residue specific distance distributions, which will ultimately help her build a molecular movie of the light triggered structural changes in the proteins.
